EN | IT Landscape, subject, nature, observer L = S + N was formulated by the comparatist and landscape theorist Michael Jakob, who defined landscape (L) as the link, the encounter and interaction between a subject (S) and nature (N). Landscape therefore derives from both nature and man. It is well known that in quantum physics reality does not exist until it is observed. However, it is also true that the observation of a phenomenon modifies the observed phenomenon itself. Objective knowledge is thus impossible. I travelled north, where every morning I walked from Castelfranco Veneto back to my hotel. The landscape I crossed, observed and photographed was unknown to me. I got lost, I felt free. Attracted to fragments of territory, I cut out postcards that I will always keep with me. I selected them among millions of possible photographs. These are mine. The resulting project can be defined with the formula L = f(O) where the landscape depends on the observer, on his experience and his imagination. 18-22 october 2019 Verso Nord |
